Camilla (1985) vokste opp på den finske øya Åland, men bor og arbeider idag i Oslo. Camilla har en MFA fra Kunstakademiet i Oslo (2020) og en BFA fra Konstfack Stockholm (2014).
Camilla jobber hovedsakelig med skulptur og video. Om sitt eget kunstnerskap sier hun:
My practice is based on an interest in narratives and conditions characterised by an ongoing interaction and negotiation between the self-experienced body and its surroundings. In my works, this is reflected as a rupture and displacement of identity.
My visual narrative is often found in a place where the self oscillates between total definition and absolute disintegration.
I often return to dichotomies that seem to define and inform the experience of one’s own identity, especially the conditions in which the excluded and alienated is made clear. In the demarcation of what is regarded as foreign and alien to the own body, I explore questions of self-identification in the materiality beyond the Anthropocene.
